Pricing and Refunds

We aim to display clear pricing information for all of our goods and services. As we are based in the United Kingdom, all financial transactions are governed by UK law and its consumer protection statutes.

Services (including our courses) :

Vipassana Fellowship produces supported online training courses and offers membership and personal support to meditators and others interested in spiritual direction. Our courses explore a spiritual tradition and its meditation practices. They are not intended, and must not be used, as a substitute for conventional psychotherapy or medical treatment for existing mental health conditions. When you subscribe to one of our courses you are entering a service contract with us. We do not sell course content, but license it for personal use for a specified period. Courses have a fixed duration and, in order to provide adequate personal support, limited places are available for each session. In accordance with United Kingdom consumer protection and distance selling legislation we have a "cooling off" period and you may cancel your subscription up to 7 working days after the date on which you submit payment. In these circumstances a refund will be given. This cancellation right ceases on the day the course begins or when it is accessed (whichever is the earlier) . Other refunds will be at the discretion of the Fellowship. Where a refund is made the original fees charged by our payment processor - for which we are not refunded ourselves - will be deducted from the remittance.

Products (all non-digital transactions) :

At Vipassana Fellowship we want you to be happy with your purchases. In addition to your automatic right of cancellation, we have a "total satisfaction" guarantee. This means that if for any reason you are unhappy with a physical purchase, simply return it to us at our Southport office in good condition within 14 days and we will issue a full refund for the price of the item less a nominal charge of USD $10 for handling and re-stocking. We will be happy to refund the purchase price in full if the return is a result of our error or a manufacturing defect.

Software

Any software supplied as part of a service or ordered separately from Vipassana Fellowship is licensed for personal use by the registered user on only one PC or device at a time. You may not rent, lease, re-sell, redistribute or decompile the software. Neither the suppliers nor the publisher will accept any responsibility for any losses or damage resulting from the use of this software, including any loss of profit, damage to equipment, interruption of business or data or any other damage direct or accidental. It is recommended that you back up any programs and data on your hard disk before installing this, or any other, software. The publisher has checked this software for known viruses at all stages of production, but you are advised to check all programs and disks accessed on your PC, before using them, with an up-to-date virus scanner.

Privacy Statement

Vipassana Fellowship is committed to protecting its users' privacy. Although our ability to provide our service requires that we collect some personal information about our website visitors, customers and course participants, we take care to protect the privacy and confidentiality of that information. You may ask for a copy of all of the data we hold on you at any time. We will destroy any personal record if requested. Please note that any membership will cease immediately and that this request will prevent you from subsequently accessing 'previous participant' discounts or of us confirming your earlier participation in any of our courses. While actively participating in a course you will be identified to other participants by means of a chosen username (rather than your real name) and your broad geographical location; your personal details will not be shared with other participants unless you specifically choose to disclose them on a forum or any profile you may opt to write.

Disclosure to third parties

We will not sell, trade or rent personal information to others in any way. We will not share your personal information with others except when required to do so by order of a court. If you purchase goods or services from us we will supply information required to facilitate the transaction to our payment processing partners, currently Stripe.com and Paypal.com. Payment information is collected directly by these companies at the time of your transaction and is held by them; we do not ourselves store any personal card or other financial information. Contact information from the signup forms may be used to send information about our products and services. The user's contact information may also be used to correspond with him or her when necessary and we may use external reputable companies (including, currently, Mailjet.com) to deliver any newsletters to which he or she has chosen to subscribe. You may unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link that is always at the foot of each newsletter.

Security

When you sign up for our services, we offer the use of a secure server. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Our main websites are hosted by pair.com in Pittsburgh, USA. We use Vimeo.com and Rumble.com to stream video content.
